Our History
The pilots and users of South County Airport formed this Association in December 2000, to ensure that the airport remains open and available for use by general aviation aircraft. An exploratory gathering was held in November 2000. During the second meeting of interested parties, held on December 5, 2000, steps were taken to set up the non-profit corporation that will function as a chapter of the California Pilots Association. At the same meeting, a board of directors was elected. Several committees to further the mission of the Association were also established. Since that time, SCAPA has maintained it status as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and also as a sub-chapter of the California Pilots Association
