October EAA Young Eagles – Pilots Needed

WE NEED VOLUNTEER PILOTS

Chapter 62 EAA based in Reid Hillview (RHV) has graciously agreed to host a Young Eagle event at San Martin on Saturday, October 19th.
If you want to be a pilot, EAA has a process that takes a couple of weeks to complete, so we should start now if you’re not already registered with them as a Young Eagle Pilot. If you can’t fly, we’re also looking for ground volunteers and safety personnel. Ground volunteers escorts kids and parents to and from the plane, and the safety personnel make sure the public stays within their cordoned area on the south ramp and escorts them back when they depart the authorized area.
Flying children is one of the most rewarding things you can do in flying – to open up the eyes of a youngster to the joys and possibilities of flight. And if we don’t make it happen, they may not have another way to do so. I have seen Young Eagle pilots go on to professoinal careers in aviation and do exciting things like attend the Air Force Academy and fly Gulfstreams for a living. Let’s help make a difference in young peoples’ lives in aviation. – Paul Marshall
